UNITE! against attacks on Women Human Rights Defenders at Risk in Migration Contexts Recommendations for Action

Wearing face masks remains mandatory in all UN Geneva conference rooms, at public events and public areas at the UN Geneva Library. You must also not come to the UN premises if you develop any COVID-like symptoms or test positive for the virus. 

UNOG requires all persons wanting to come to the premises to follow Swiss regulations regarding travel quarantine and to wear masks in all common indoor areas.

UN Women in partnership with the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders and the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, developed a set of recommendations on women human rights defenders at risk in migration contexts that will be launched in this event on Monday, 28 November from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. 

This event is taking place on the occasion of International Women Human Rights Defenders Day and during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which this year calls on everyone to stand in solidarity with women’s rights activists and to support feminist movements around the world to resist the rollback of women’s rights under the banner of, ‘UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women & Girls’.

The event will be a panel discussion, giving expert speakers the chance to make a brief intervention followed by a short Q&A with the audience. It will be in hybrid format, taking place in person at the Palais des Nations (Room XXI) and online (link provided upon registration).
