The Implementation Support Unit (ISU) of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) is organizing a coordination workshop for the recently launched project on ‘Supporting Universalization and Effective Implementation of the BWC in Africa’. 

The objective of the coordination workshop is to bring together technical experts from African states, other BWC States Parties and relevant regional, international organizations and NGOs engaged in biosecurity programmes in Africa in order to address the following issues:

  • To gather feedback on the proposed implementation framework for the project;
  • To share best practices and lessons learned from other activities that are of relevance for the project; and
  • To ensure a harmonized implementation approach by aligning planned project activities with those of other biosecurity programmes carried out in in Africa.
