English version:

The United Nations Environment Programme together with the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg kicks-off its Interactive Vanishing Treasures Exhibition on 24th June 2022, with a Launch Event at the Nature and Forest Centre Biodiversum Camille Gira in Luxembourg. The Vanishing Treasures programme and its Interactive Exhibition aim to promote a better understanding of the impacts of climate change on three iconic mountain species – the snow leopard in Central Asia, the Royal Bengal tiger in Bhutan and the mountain gorilla in the Greater Virunga landscape, and aim to improve the protection of these ever-diminishing species while supporting local mountain communities who live alongside them. The immersive exhibition blends augmented reality, sand art and 360° virtual reality features of the three iconic mountain species and provides a wealth of information about the Vanishing Treasures activities in the three regions Central Asia, Bhutan and Virunga mountains (Uganda and Rwanda).
