By decision 11/CMA.7, Parties decided to hold deliberations under the Veredas Dialogue on the implementation of Article 2, paragraph 1(c), of the Paris Agreement and its complementarity with Article 9 of the Paris Agreement, building on the Sharm el-Sheikh dialogue (2023-2025) and taking into account the concerns and safeguards outlined in paragraph 3 of the same decision.

As part of ongoing intersessional engagement with Parties and non-Party stakeholders, the co-chairs of the Veredas Dialogue for 2026, Debra-Lee Swanepoel (South Africa) and Ralien Bekkers (The Netherlands), communicated their intent to, to convene a series of targeted virtual engagement sessions with stakeholders from across the financial system during the second half of September. The sessions will serve to follow up on issues emerging from the Veredas Dialogue and deepen the collective understanding of practical approaches, opportunities and challenges associated with implementing Article 2, paragraph1(c), of the Paris Agreement and its complementarity with Article 9 of the Paris Agreement. 

Participation: In addition to invited stakeholders, the technical sessions will be open for attendance by all interested Parties and non-Party stakeholders, with a view to following the discussions.
